A May 2021 Private Tour of the Ship and Dinner for Four

This fabulous item is led by our own “history buff” Dr. Ray Glick DVM and includes a complete tour, stem to stern, engine room to wheelhouse. This will be followed by refreshments on the ship and a catered full course dinner from one of Lewes’s famous restaurants dockside. Overfalls President Mike Safina will join you for dinner guaranteeing an enlightened Maritime conversation. Ray is a presenter on Lightship history at OSHA and Mike is a graduate of U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and involved in Maritime activities.

Duck Warden

Unusual as usual, made from re-purposed cedar and pine from a screened in porch, the “Duck Warden” surveys his surroundings. Sitting in his “duck blind” the hand carved Mallard by Al Klineburger keeps a stern eye open. Weatherproof, this measures 9” wide, 8” deep and 14” high to top of head.

Birdhouse for Feathered Friends

An unique birdhouse built by Al Klineburger out of re-purposed wood. With a rich grain Mahogany front it’s sure to please the most discerning songbird. Weather proofed with epoxy and spar varnish it is ready for the elements. Everything handmade except hardware. Songbirds not included. This unique item is 15” high, 6.5" width and 6.5" depth.

Birdhouse From Reclaimed Monomoy Wood

The facing and sides of this structure are made from planking wood from the Overfalls foundation Monomoy lifeboat. This was wood deemed unusable when the boat was rebuilt. The wood is in good shape and the crew gave the wood to be used to build bird houses sold at Overfalls fundraisers. The house is for nesting of tufted titmouse or chickadees. It's entry hole is protected by a metal predator plate. The wood surface remains untouched from when it was removed from the Monomoy. It has been over-sealed with a polyurethane protective coating. It has ceiling vents, floor drain holes and a rear clean-out panel. All joints are double bonded with both builder's adhesive and screws. Size approximately 7" tall by 5 3/4" x 6".

Patchwork Quilt in Sea Glass Colors

Made by Judy Battista who honed her quilt making skills in Pennsylvania ‘s Dutch country. A beautiful throw that will bring joy to anyone who owns it. A perfect match for a decorator with an eye on beach design. This extraordinary heirloom measures 5'3" by 4'6".

Delaware State Flag

This Delaware State flag proudly flew on the LV118 Overfalls for the summers of 2014 and 2015. It was auctioned off during an “Opening Party”, since then several members have flown the flag. It is just under standard size of 3’ x 5’, and shows the wear and tear one would expect. Very collectible!

Lightship Overfalls Jigsaw Puzzle

A beautiful photo, taken by Michele Buckler, of the Ship being towed in the canal as it's returning from the shipyard in Dorchester New Jersey after having been freshly painted. This photo is converted into a 550 piece jigsaw puzzle and suitable for framing (24” x 18”).
