Lightship StoryWalk Opens at The Overfalls in Canalfront Park
Take a walk through Canalfront Park in Lewes while you read Caldecott Award winning author/illustratior Brian Floca's picture book, Lightship. Lightship offers a glimpse into the lives of those who lived and worked on lightships, highlighting the important role the ships played, the mechanics of the ships, and the challenges faced by the crew.

Made possible by the collaborative efforts of Morgan Everts, granddaughter of Overfalls Member Sue Tolbert, City of Lewes Parks and Marina Administrator Janet Reeves and Lewes Public Library Children’s Librarian Jennifer Noonen (each pictured here, left to right) and with the financial support of Groome Church, the StoryWalk was installed on April 13th.

StoryWalks were first created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. They have since taken off nationwide in a movement to bring reading outdoors.
