(
1/11/2011)

Special Sale by the Overfalls Foundation

The skiff was built during the Father's Day weekend as part of the Lewes Historical Society's Wooden Boat Contest. Six boats were built at the Life Saving Station site during the weekend. Overfalls had a group of six “skilled” craftsmen who built this particular skiff. It has been painted to match the Overfalls, bright red topside, gray interior with varnished seats, transom and stern with black on the bottom.

The skiff was in kit form, supplied by Lewes Historical Society, that included all the materials needed for completion. Marine grade plywood for the hull, solid wood for the stringers, steam and transom. Marine grade fasteners and glue to assemble.

Kits are available to convert the Bevin’s rowing skiff to a sailing skiff.

Price: $1,200, with all proceeds going to the Overfalls Foundation to help maintain the Lightship Overfalls.
