Join the 4th of July festivities by watching the Lewes Decorated Boat Parade from the Lightship Overfalls or from her beautiful grounds. The parade commences at 1:30 pm, rain or shine from the Roosevelt Inlet and ends at the judge's reviewing stand at Fisherman's wharf pier next to the Lewes drawbridge at approximately 2:00 pm.
Free T-shirts (donated by Southern Delaware Physical Therapy) will be distribured from the Overfalls Ship's Store. Come early as supplies are very limited.
Overfalls Vice President Bob Gibson will be joined by Ted Becker, Fred Beaufait, Barbara Vaughan, Victor Letonoff, and Kathy Davison, representing the Lewes Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors to judge the boats and determine winners.
The Awards Ceremany take place on the Overfalls foredeck at 3:30 pm.
And Yes! The Overfalls is open for tours below the main deck from 10:00 to 1:00 only. Visitors are invited to "bring your own" picnic lunch to eat on the lawn or using our two tables by tennis court.
The parade lines up, rain or shine, at Roosevelt Inlet at 1:00 p.m., proceeds down the canal at 1:30 p.m. and ends at the judge's reviewing stand at Fisherman's Wharf pier next to the drawbridge at approximately 2:00 p.m. Trophies and Prizes will be awarded at 3:30 p.m. aboard the Overfalls.
Register at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center, Pilottown Park Marina, or Lewes Harbour Bait and Tackle. Registration is Free!
Only boats that are pre-registered by 10:00 a.m. on July 4th will be considered for prizes. Boats that fail to register by 10:00 A.M. are welcome to participate by joining the other boats at Roosevelt Inlet at 1:00 p.m.
