David Weber - Local Extinct Birds
1/8/2010
On Friday, January 8, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. in St. Peter's Parish Hall at Second and Mulberry Streets in Lewes, our loyal member David Weber will share some of his vast knowledge of birds with us. Dave has been an avid birdwatcher for many years, and will tell us about four local birds which have become extinct. Dave is a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago and American University in Washington, D.C., with degrees in Liberal Arts and Public Administration. He retired after 32 years of service with the U.S. Treasury Dept., and moved to Delaware in 1998. He has been married to Diane for 37 years. Dave is originally from Chicago and Diane comes from Aberdeen, Scotland. His hobbies are birdwatching, traveling (mostly to find rare birds), and the Overfalls. Dave tells us that "All my life I have watched and studied birds. Both my parents were bird enthusiasts. I own 6 pairs of binoculars, and use every one.”
As usual, the public is cordially invited to attend this monthly meeting, and light refreshments will be served. For more information, please call Bob Gibson at 302-645-0377.
