July 2009 Meeting - Dr. Nancy M. Targett

Nancy TargettOur regular monthly meeting will be held aboard the lightship, weather permitting.  (In the event of rain, the meeting will be held in St. Peter's Parish Hall at Second and Mulberry Streets in Lewes.)  Dr. Nancy M. Targett, Dean, University of Delaware College of Marine and Earth Studies, will present us with a broad discussion on some of the interesting work now going on at the Lewes campus, and how it impacts and benefits the community.  Her topic will be:  "The University of Delaware College of Earth, Ocean and Environment - A Lewes Community Asset." 

Dr. Targett has been at the U. of Delaware for 25 years, and is a Professor in the Marine Biosciences.  Her area of expertise is marine chemical ecology, and focuses on understanding interactions between and among species in the marine environment that are mediated by naturally occurring chemicals.   She lives in Lewes with her husband Tim and daughter Katherine.
