June 2009 Meeting - Joe Booth

Our regular monthly meeting will be held on Friday, June 12th, at 7:30 p.m. aboard the lightship, which has now been fully restored and has returned to Lewes from Norfolk! We will have the pleasure of hearing Delaware State Representative Joe Booth update us on "Issues Impacting Sussex County and Lewes." Joe Booth is a native Sussex Countian and was born in the 37th Representative District he now serves. His career in public service includes tenure on both the Georgetown Town Council and the Indian River School Board. He also served as Georgetown’s mayor for three terms. First elected in 2002 to the Delaware State House of Representatives, Joe Booth is currently serving his fourth two-year term representing a district including the municipalities of Georgetown and Lewes. He is a member of the influential Joint Finance Committee, a group of 12 state legislators responsible for crafting the state’s multi-billion dollar annual operating budget. He is also the vice-chair of the House Energy and Natural Resources Committee and sits on several other House committees including Education, Health & Human Development, and Agriculture.
Joe Booth and his wife, Margie have five children and reside in Georgetown.
